“Gorse” features synths and doom register guitars, teetering on the edge of noise and atmospheric sound design. The album showcases drum arrangements and performances by Lachlan White, whose experimentalist approach to rhythm is influenced by the likes of Mike Patton, Primus and Deftones. Prokop’s vocals are eclectic and emotive, ranging from jazz influenced dissonance to high flown melodies. Thematically, the album explores the concept of opposites and mental health, told through gritty and imagery-based lyricism.
